Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Effective: [DATE]

1. About these terms

These terms are a binding agreement between you and [Registered entity] ("Verity"). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use Verity.

2. Who can use Verity

You must be 18 or older to use Verity. The age stated here matches the onboarding flow, the store age rating, and the Privacy Policy.

3. Verity is not medical care

Verity is a personal wellness and health-tracking app and is not a medical device. Vera provides general, clinician-reviewed information and is not a licensed healthcare professional. Nothing in this app constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your health management or treatment.

You are responsible for your own health decisions. Do not use Verity to make medication or dosing decisions. Insights, trends, supplement information and Vera's answers are general, evidence-based information, not personal medical advice.

4. Emergencies

Verity is not for emergencies. If you think you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services or a healthcare professional immediately. Verity is not an emergency service; crisis resources are provided for information only.

5. Vera — what it is and isn't

Free tier (curated Q&A): Vera answers a fixed set of preselected questions with pre-written, clinician-reviewed information. It does not use artificial intelligence and does not chat freely.

Premium (Ask Vera AI): Verity Premium adds a live AI companion that answers your questions grounded in Verity's clinician-reviewed library. It provides general information, not medical advice, and — like any AI — can be imperfect; it does not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend medication doses. Always consult your healthcare provider. Full premium terms are presented before you subscribe.

6. Support-person mode

Support-person mode lets another person you invite log their own observations about you, and lets you control what, if anything, they can see of your data. Only invite someone you trust. Either of you can end the connection at any time; ending it immediately stops further sharing. Do not use it to monitor, coerce, or harm anyone — doing so is a serious misuse and may be unlawful. Observations are personal information about the person observed and are treated as such.

7. Your content and our content

You keep ownership of the data you enter. You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process it to provide the app, as described in the Privacy Policy. The Verity app, Vera, and our branding are our intellectual property; you may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer them.

8. Acceptable use

No unlawful use, no attempts to break security or access others' data, no scraping, no malware, and no using the app to harm or harass another person.

9. Subscriptions and payments

Verity offers a free tier and a paid subscription (Verity Premium, which includes Ask Vera AI). Pricing, billing and renewal terms are presented before you pay and are governed by the relevant app store's terms and any subscription terms we publish.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verity is provided "as is." We are not liable for health or other decisions you make based on the app, for indirect or consequential loss, or for matters outside our reasonable control. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including under the South African Consumer Protection Act). [Have your lawyer tailor this to CPA s48–s49 and your governing law.]

11. Termination

You can stop using Verity and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or to protect users or the service. On termination, the Privacy Policy governs your data.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [South Africa / your chosen jurisdiction], and disputes are subject to the [courts of …]. Consumers may have additional local-law rights these terms do not remove.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will notify you of material changes. Contact: [support@verity.app].
